Sellaronda offers one of the most captivating ski circuits in the Italian Dolomites, weaving through four distinct ski resorts. The route circles the impressive Sella massif, providing a diverse skiing experience across Pordoi, Sella, Gardena, and Campolongo passes. Skiers enjoy breathtaking alpine scenery with well-maintained slopes suitable for various skills, though some paths require attention to navigation.
Beyond skiing, the area features conveniences such as onsite bars, restrooms, and facilities accessible to wheelchair users, making it suitable for families and groups of different needs. Tracing the entire Sellaronda loop requires an early start to fully appreciate the mountain views and avoid busy lift lines that tend to appear in the afternoon.
While some travelers note extended chairlift times and crowding, the route’s charm lies in its ever-changing landscape and the adventure of passing through multiple connected ski areas. Pausing for lunch or a quick coffee at scenic spots like Piz Seteur or the summit stations adds to the appeal.
Sellaronda stands out as a memorable day-long ski adventure that combines natural beauty, practical amenities, and a unique sense of exploration on the slopes.

“After all those years, we are still thrilled to do both orange and green sella ronda routes. Such a fun way of skiing. Highly recommended. Best to start early enough to explore Marmolada or Corvara slopes. Try to stop at Piz Seteur for lunch and apres-ski at top of Campitello cable car (take the last car) or top of Belvedere gondola (last one down at 17.30)…”
“Beautiful ski circuit. Skiing adventure in the Dolomites going through four beautiful pases of Pordoi, Sella, Gardena and Campolongo. The Sellaronda is the ski circuit around the Sella group in the Dolomites mountains of Northern Italy. The Sella massif lies between the four Ladin valleys of Badia, Gardena, Fassa, and Arabba and is divided between the regions of Trentino, Alto Adige and Veneto.”
“Perfect slopes, weather, and snow. Beautiful mountains and hills for skiing.”
“We loved Sellaronda. It’s an amazing experience because it feels like a real day trip across different slopes and ski resorts, not just skiing the same area. You follow a route you’ve never done before, which makes it exciting, and even the navigation itself is part of the adventure — following signs, choosing the right direction, moving from one area to another. That said, you need to be careful with navigation. We missed a sign once and had to figure things out via lifts and connections, and in the end we barely made it back before the end of the day. Still, it was a great experience. My advice to anyone planning to do the Sellaronda loop: start as early as possible. We started around 10–11 a.m., and that was already stressful. We stopped only once for a quick pizza. If you want to stop for coffee, enjoy lunch properly, sit down, relax, and really enjoy the day, starting that late is not enough. Starting early in the morning makes the whole experience much more relaxed and enjoyable. Overall, Sellaronda was by far the best skiing experience we had. Compared to Carezza and skiing in Val Gardena alone, Sellaronda is easily number one. A fantastic route and a truly memorable experience.”
“Sellaronda is a must - at least once in lifetime you need to have it done. Pluses- you go across 4 ski resorts, you see Beatiful scenery, skiruns only in some parts are difficult rather easy. Minuses- you will not see what’s best in 4 ski resorts constituting sellaronda. You will not see Seceda in valgardena, you will not run marmolada, nor la longia, nor gardenissima… you will not see core and best of all 4 skiresorts. Additionally you will have the feeling that more time you are in the lifts then on slopes. And extra thing- sellaronda is busy what means that after 2pm many more difficult parts (for example part connecting altabadia to arabba) will be very bumpy, very risky. All kn all - you need to do this and that it. It will take you lot of time, 4hr. I know guy who did both ways in 1d, so you will have some time to do some detour along the way, but rather not enough time to do marmolada or Seceda”
“The views of the Selloronda mountain and surrounding area were amazing as we went around the orange circuit. I've dropped a star because of the delays due to the bottle necks at some of the gondolas and chairlifts on the route.”
“A great place, very beautiful and the ski slopes are also excellent.”
“OK, if here for a week, you will probably want to do the Sellaronda one day. But probably not two days - as it involves a lot of sitting on lifts. Great views on a nice day, so perhaps worth it on a nice sunny day.”
